Various kinds of strikes and outbursts were identified in various parts of India recently. Meanwhile, the Uber drivers in China were on the different track, as they’re literally uploading the scary looking pictures as their profile photo to trick passengers into getting scared and canceling their rides instantly.

And yes, there’s some special benefit they’re going to get by letting the customers cancel their rides. This way, drivers can collect a small cancellation fee from the frightened customers, though the amount is only a few yuans (which is less than Rs 70), reported the local sources.

The reports further said that this kind of things went more often in the prominent Chinese cities like Tianjin, Qingdao, Chengdu, Xiamen, Beijing, Shanghai, Zhengzhou and Suzhou.

In addition to this ‘ghost riders,’ there were ghost rides too.

What actually Ghost rides mean?

Here, the drivers start the ride without the consent of the rider and surprisingly, this rides last barely a minute. And in this kinds of cases, the charges might hit 8 to 15 yuan which is much more than what the ride would have actually cost.

In a bid to clear the clouds, Uber gave an explanation to its customers through a media channel, saying:

“We have taken immediate actions and banned these reported individual fraud accounts while continuing to investigate and crack down on any fraudulent behavior to protect rider and driver interests.”

The multiple feedbacks from its customers made the authorities to recognize the issue.
