THEME FOR THE YEAR 2018:

Nature for Water:

The theme in 2018 explores how nature can be used to overcome the water challenges of the 21st century. This could be in the form of nature-based solutions to reduce floods, droughts and water pollution and protect ecosystems. Restoring wetlands, implementing constructed wetlands, green roofs, green infrastructure, planting new forests, reconnecting rivers to floodplains, are some examples. Each of these use natural processes to rebalance the water cycle and improve human health and livelihoods.

A statement from UN reads: sustainable development goal 6 commits the world ensuring that everyone has access to safe water by 2030, and includes the target for protection of natural environment and reducing pollution.

The amount of pollution caused by plastic water bottles, and the other bottles carrying other liquids, per day astonishes & among that 91% of plastic is not been recycled. At last, treat yourself to be a sustainable water breaker to celebrate this world water day.
