India’s wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha turned out to be a “Superman” as he pulled off a stunning catch during the 1st day of the 1st Test against Australia here today. Saha, who has been flawless behind the stumps this whole season, was not one to let the ball go past him without giving it a shot.

Wriddhiman Saha has been the first choice wicketkeeper of the India cricket team for quite some time now and on Thursday he gave the selectors yet another reason to be proud of their selection. Saha has been India’s first-choice wicketkeeper since MS Dhoni retired in 2014. The Bengal gloves man has been an asset with his deft work behind the stumps and his gutsy batting.

Thanks to Saha’s brilliance, Umesh grabbed his third wicket and he added another to his tally the very next ball by trapping Nathan Lyon LBW  to reduce Australia to 205 for 9. The 4th ball of the 82nd over was short and wide and Steven O’Keefe tried to cut the ball hard but just managed an outside edge. Umesh Yadav got the ball to swing away from the batsman, and induced O’Keefe to edge. Captain Virat Kohli, who was standing at first slip, could not believe his eyes. He immediately congratulated and hugged Saha for that superb effort. Unbelievable stuff!
