Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education, established in 1910, is under the purview of the Department of Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, India. Up to and ending at the secondary (class 10) level, the following streams of education are offered: the SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) stream, the Anglo-Indian stream, the Oriental School Leaving Certificate (OSLC) stream and the Matriculation stream. In 2016, a total of 10,23,566 students appeared for the Tamil Nadu Board 10th examination, of which 50.3 percent were boys and 49.7 percent were girl students. The TN 10th Board Result was declared on 25th May in which students broke all previous records and the triumphant students of Tamil Nadu board last year scored a record 93.6 overall pass percentage. The segregated pass percentage of girls stood at 95.9 percent, way ahead of their counterparts i.e. the boys at 91.4 percent.
