Anando Brahma Movie Story:

Anando Brahma is a comedy-horror Telugu movie which deals with the concept of humans scaring ghosts. A guy (Rajeev Kanakala) loses his parents in a mishap and he wants to sell the house for sale where his parents were lived. Taapsee and her grandfather along with a small girl live in that home as Ghosts. They will be bumping into another Ghost family in the same home. No one will come forward to buy the house as the rumor spread as Ghosts living in the house. Rajeev Kanakala decides to rent his home for free to kill the rumor.

He rents the house to the four comedians who have their own weakness. In Anando Brahma Vennela Kishore plays a guy who’s suffering from night-blindness and is deaf. Shakalaka Shankar plays Babu, an aspiring actor with a split-personality disorder. He is obsessed with films and television and tends to take on the personality of the character he is impressed with. Tagubothu Ramesh plays the character of Tulasi, a man who is very soft-spoken and sober during the day but once he polishes a bottle, he turns into someone completely opposite.

Srinivas Reddy who suffers from a rare (and funny) heart-ailment that calls for an extreme contrasting emotional behavior. For example, if he’s feeling very happy, then he has to act very depressed failing which he would have a heart attack. If he’s very scared, then he has to start laughing. However, he is the only one who is balanced and composed and is aware of what’s actually happening but, he’s is unable to do anything because of his medical condition. Who is Tapsee? Why she became the ghost? How weaknesses of the four people become their biggest strength in adversity? Watch the film on big screens to know the remaining story.

Anando Brahma Review & Rating:

Anando Brahma is the first straight Telugu film in two years for Taapsee. Her last Telugu film was Dongaata in which she played a cameo. She was also seen in The Ghazi Attack. Taapsee after delivering a gripping performance in 2016 film Pink gained a lot of attention. Now, in Anando Brahma she had performed very well.

Anando Brahma, a unique tale where ghosts are afraid of humans, promises to do — make you experience alternative bouts of laughter and fear, all at once. All the four comedians did the excellent job. Vennela Kishore did a splendid job with his performance because there are no lengthy dialogues. Mahi V Raghav who had made his directorial debut with ‘Paathshaala’ tried something different with this movie.

Positives:

  • Second Half
  • Performance of Comedians

Negatives:

  • Weak Plot.
  • Limited Performance of Taapsee Pannu
  • Artificial Comedy

Allindiaroundup Rating : 2.5/5

Final Verdict:

Watching a horror-comedy can be a tricky proposition. One minute you will be laughing your guts out and the next, you will be drenched in cold sweat. The movie is a worth watch with the different concept. However, the story has a weak plot.
