NASA Commercial Crew Program for Space Station Gets Delayed

From 2011 NASA plans for sending astronauts to the international space station has been delayed. As per reports, the delay is caused due to safety measures. Apparently, the safety measures weren’t complete, due to which officials have decided to delay it according to the federal report released on July 11.

Which company is making spacecraft.

National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s commercial crew program has only selected two company. SpaceX and Boeing Co, according to the reports these two companies be responsible for sending the astronauts in space. It is said that the company will send them by the year 2019 by Dragon and Starliner spacecraft. Which are two spacecraft of both respectively?

However, as per reports. The Government Accountability Office has mentioned the issue a major one. Moreover, due to which the delay could result in nine months gap between the expected day and actual day. When first our crew would be launched in space by a commercial company.

How expensive is the program?

The program started all the way back in 2014. When SpaceX received $2.6 billion, and Boeing received $4.6 billion. According to the reports, they were to build a crew transportation system. Which would be first under Commercials Crew program. Using which astronauts would be sent in space to ISS missions.

What does NASA say?

In a report, which was published by the NASA about the program. They said they were working closely with their partners. Moreover, working hard to solve the issue, also preparing for any further delay with a contingency plan.

As per reports, firstly both companies have to demonstrate that their system is safe. NASA would keep a very close look whether if it’s safe or not. As per experts, they would be able to track safety risks. Like Boeing eject system which is meant to eject of the rocket is hazardous. Alternatively, like in 2016 when a costly launch explosion occurred.

The Russian spacecraft had NASA’s seats bought all the way back in 2011. Which NASA had booked in advance, to be able to send us astronauts. However, though the plans are delayed. We have to see when the astronauts are sent into space.
