Abhishek Bachchan-owned Jaipur Pink Panthers win Pro Kabaddi Title

The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is a professional kabaddi league in India, based on the format of the Indian Premier League. The first edition of the tournament started on 26 July 2014 with eight franchises consisting of playersfrom around the world.

We all know that Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan owns the Jaipur Kabaddi team which has been named as ‘Pink Panthers’ Pink Panthers who pulled off a 35-24 victory over U Mumbai to emerge champion of the inaugural STAR ProKabaddi League on Sunday.

The game started with Mumbai in strong control of the proceedings as they were in the lead early when Anup Kumar took three points in his 3rd raid, giving his team a 4 points lead. Anup Kumar looked in top form at the start of thegame and it looked like that Mumbai will once again get the better of Jaipur in the tournament.

Once the Pink Panthers took the lead they kept on increasing the points and won the game by 11 points. Anup Kumar was fighting till the end of the first half as none of the other raiders were able to support him. Anup Kumar took 10 points in the game while the second most successful raid.

Final Result of Pro-Kabaddi 2014:

Jaipur Pink Panthers has won the match by 35 (Maninder Singh 7, Rajesh Narwal 7, Prashant Chavan 6) but U Mumbai 24 (Anup Kumar 11).

Best Defender: Prashant Chavan.

Best Raider: Maninder Singh.

First Place:

Jaipur Pink Panther has won Rs. 1 Crore Prize money in the tournament for winning the Pro Kabaddi title.

Second Place:

U Mumba was Runner-up Team and won 50 Lakhs Prize Money in the tournament.

Third place:

Patna Pirates Stood 3rd place and won 25 Lakhs Prize Money in the tournament.

Important Info:

Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra said that the Pro Kabaddi League’s second season would be held in March, 2015.
