Indian pace bowler Bhuvaneshwar Kumar tied the knot with fiancé Nupur Nagar in a glittering wedding ceremony in his hometown Meerut on November 23. The wedding is said to be followed by a reception in Bulandshahr, Nupur’s hometown on November 26.

According to the reports, the couple will also host a reception in New Delhi on November 30. Team India will be in Delhi for the Sri Lanka series at the time, are expected to attend the reception.

Bhuvi’s wedding celebrations had started a few days back as photos of his ‘Mehendi’ and wife Nupur’s Haldi were creating buzz around social media.

The couple got engaged in Greater Noida on October 4, which was a close-knit affair. As the Indian team is busy preparing for the 2nd Test against Sri Lanka, they poured their warm wishes through micro-blogging sites like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

Fellow cricketers including Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Puajra congratulated the couple for the next phase of their lives. Rohit Sharma, however, made sure his fans and followers had a good laugh on the happy occasion.

“Ek din mai do shikaar fast bowlers are having a good day off the field. Congrats @BhuviOfficial and Nupur. God bless!”, tweeted Rohit Sharma referencing to the fact that both Bhuvneshwar and Zaheer (fast bowlers) got married on the same day.

Whereas, Indian cricketers Praveen Kumar and Suresh Raina attended the ceremony in Meerut.

His India and Sunrisers Hyderabad teammate Shikhar Dhawan is excited and even teased Bhuvneshwar calling him “joru ka Ghulam”. “Lo Ji ban gya Ek Aur joru ka Ghulam @BhuviOfficial ..???? Wish you a very happy married life bro,” Dhawan posted a video on Twitter and Instagram.

Earlier, Bhuvneshwar Kumar had not revealed the identity of his soon-to-be better half when the pictures of him on a dinner date with a girl had gone viral on social media. While some fans went about the rumor of him dating a South Indian movie industry actress, the Indian pacer later uploaded a photo with Nupur to clear the air.

Bhuvneshwar, who played an instrumental role in India’s stellar performance with the ball in the first Test against Sri Lanka, was released from the India Test squad for the whole series that is in Nagpur for the second Test against Sri Lanka.

Earlier in the day, former India cricketer Zaheer Khan wed Bollywood actress Sagarika Ghatge in a private wedding ceremony. With the marriage date pre-pone to November 23, the reception will reportedly be held on November 27 in Mumbai.

With Zaheer Khan also getting married to Bollywood actress Sagarika Ghatge, there would be quite a few receptions and parties for the Indian cricketers to attend.
