South African Bowler ‘Dane Van Niekrik’ Sets World Record By Taking 4 Wickets With No Conceding Runs

Since the beginning of the ICC Women’s World Cup, various records are set, with the amusing consecutive fifties from Indian skipper Mithali Raj, another interesting story joined the row as South African bowler Dane Van Nikreik baited the unexpected four wickets with no runs given.

Meanwhile, the West Indies women’s team saw a new low on Sunday in Leicester when they registered the sixth lowest total ever in the ICC Women’s World Cup. Followed by the bowled out for a paltry 48 by the Proteas.

Out of the eleven batswomen, five were dismissed on ducks while five others could manage only single-digit scores, of which the highest individual score was 26 by Chedean Nation.

With the gradual fall of wickets, the West Indian batting faltered right from the onset as they lost half their side with the scoreboard reading 16. The Windies could only bat 25 overs as they were bundled out for a total of 48.

It almost appeared like it will be Shabnim Ismail and Marizanne Kapp’s show day all the way, until, Proteas’ bowler Dane van Niekerk stepped in stealing the show taking four wickets without conceding a run.

This 24-year-old South African captain bagged an innumerable 3.2-3-0-4 statistics, making herself the only bowler in cricket history to take four wickets in an international match without conceding a run.
