The 2016 Kabaddi World Cup has become one of the most successful tournaments in the history of the sport. It is the third edition of the indoor format that is held at the Arena by TransStadia in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

It is defending champions India is hosting the event and is one of the firm favourites to retain the title. 12 teams are participating in the tournament and they are divided into two groups with each consisting of six.

Team India has won the previous two titles by defeating Iran in both the finals in 2004 and 2007. So Iran has become the favourite team after team India. The Republic of Korea is also one of the favourites along with Iran. Bangladesh team follows the line which finished third in the previous two occasions are also tough competitors.

The remaining eight teams are Australia, England, Japan, Kenya, Poland, Argentina, Thailand and United States.

India, Republic of Korea, Thailand and Iran teams have qualified for semi-finals of Kabaddi World Cup 2016. Putting everyone in the shock, the young Thailand team managed to qualify for their first ever International Semi-Finals in a tournament.

Apart from the competition, each and every team have won the hearts of their country people and the world with their performance and dedication to the game. Hope the teams would get better training for the next world cup and give heavy competition to the big teams like India, South Korea and Iran.

Team Iran has unbelievably won the semi-final-1 match against South Korea. Both the teams fought really well and it was breathtaking every ride the player went. However, Iran clinched the spot in final. Coming to the semi-final-2, team India has comfortably won the match against the young and low-experience team Thailand.

It was a great chance for Thailand to play the semi-finals against the strong team India. However, team India won the match and set the spot in the finals to play against Iran. So, let us see what happens whether India will defend its title or Iran wins the title for the first time.
