Michael Vaughan Savages Indian Fan On Twitter, Takes Sly Dig At India’s Performance In South Africa

The Proteas have defeated India by 135 runs in the second Test of the three-match series at Supersport Park in Centurion. With this win, the hosts have won the series and have eventually completed the revenge of their 2015 tour when India had blanked them by 3-0 in the four-match rubber.

Michael Vaughan does not shy away from giving anyone a piece of his mind and it is well-known fact. He is also known for his comments on Twitter. This time, an Indian fan paid the price for taking on the former cricketer.

The cricketer-turned-commentator savaged the fan after writing a derogatory reply to his tweet. It all began when Vaughan posted a critical tweet for football team Sheffield Wednesday.

“The worse thing a Professional Sportsperson can have labeled at them is that they are not trying or have stopped working hard… Well Sheffield Wednesday players it’s clear to me that you all have …,” wrote the Sheffield-born former batsman.

As expected, Vaughan’s tweet drew mixed reactions. But there is one Indian fan who risked the ire of Vaughan and wrote, “Why you are crying all the time?”

Vaughan was in no mood to let the fan go without any reply as he hit back by taking a sly dig at India’s performance on the cricket field. “I don’t like India getting hammered all the time… that’s why Manu….,” was Vaughan’s prompt reply.

As a result of the loss, India also conceded the three-match series. The loss also extended India’s poor overseas record in an overseas year. Sitting atop the ICC Test rankings on the back of nine consecutive series win, India were widely tipped to do well on the ongoing tour.
