This Is What MS Dhoni Did When His ‘Chaiwala’ Friend From Railway Days Came To Meet Him

Dhoni is an icon, not just on the field but off it too. He is a superstar on and off the field but deep down inside, Dhoni is still just a simple guy from Ranchi who made it big in the world of cricket. You can take Mahendra Singh Dhoni out of Ranchi but you cannot take Ranchi out of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

His millions of followers and fans on social media get to witness the simplicity in Dhoni whenever he posts a video or a picture of himself, either spending quality time with his family, training his dogs or taking a train journey to travel with Jharkhand teammates.

Everyone knows that before making it big in the Indian Cricket Team, the skipper used to work as a junior TT at Kharagpur station. Dhoni was in Kolkata playing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy when Thomas decided to pay his old customer a visit. Little did he expect that Dhoni would recognize him.

Jharkhand played one-day in the home against Chattisgarh in Kolkata. The former team won the match with M.S Dhoni posting a century. During his stay in Kolkata, Dhoni met his old ‘chai wall’ friend and his gesture once again touched his fans. He is a tea-seller and has a stall at Kharagpur railway station; when Dhoni was a TTE in Indian Railways, he would always drop in to his stall and have conversations with him.

Thomas is said to be the owner of a tea shop located at a railway station. Dhoni and Thomas had been befriending each other since Dhoni worked as a T.T master in railways. As soon as Dhoni saw Thomas standing outside, he immediately recognized him and hugged him tightly. Not only this, Dhoni also took him for a dinner and reportedly was very happy spending time with his old buddy.

“When Dhoni bhai was in Kharagpur, he used to visit my shop two or three times a day to have tea. Many times I served him hot milk in that period. After today’s incident, I will go back to Kharagpur and name my shop ‘Dhoni Tea Stall’.” Thomas said.

Very soon the picture got viral and we could see the happiness on his Thomas’ face, who met his old buddy after 13 long years. With a source of happiness, reports say that Thomas has decided to open a new Tea stall of Dhoni’s name.

He also met a lot of his old railway friends during the visit.

Explosive on the field and humble off it, MSD is a perfect role model for everyone
