Team India is all set for the second Test against Sri Lanka after defeating the hosts by 304 runs in the first Test at Galle. Despite the absence of the regular opening batsmen KL Rahul and Murali Vijay, their replacements Shikhar Dhawan and Abhinav Mukund did not let the team feel their absence with their terrific performances.
The host team Sri Lanka haven’t managed to challenge the No 1 Test team, they are working on fine tuning things further. Both the teams are practicing hard for the second Test as team India clinching to win the series 2-0 whereas Sri Lanka team aiming to level the series 1-1.
Apart from these stats, something interesting is being roamed on the social media. It is a new instrument that is being used in the batting sessions. Team India’s assistant coach Sanjay Bangar whose primary job is the batting department was using a new instrument in the nets ahead of the second Test.
Robo Arm:
It’s called Robo arm, the device is made to give throw downs to the batters. It is a new version of the ones traditionally used by the team. The Robo Arm can be used in full pitch and also half pitch. Due to its SHORT LENGTH, the sighting of the ball will be easier even when played from a shorter distance. It generates Robos up to 110kmph. The size of the Robo Arm is short ensuring a natural trajectory along with control and accuracy.

This device is being used by the teams since the Champions Trophy. It has been designed by an Indian company with several interesting features. Since the likes of Virat Kohli and few others spend much time taking throw downs in the nets, this new device has come to much use.
The second Test will be played at Colombo from August 3. Lokesh Rahul in all probability will open in the second Test after he missed out the first one due to viral fever. This means that despite a good show from Tamil Nadu opener Abhinav Mukund in the first Test, he may have to warm the bench.
