Parvez Rasool Finally Breaks His Silence On Chewing Gum Controversy

Team India cricketer Parvez Rasool landed himself into trouble after he chewed a gum during the national anthem before the start of the opening T20I match between India and England on January 26. He was criticized and trolled in social media for disrespecting the national anthem.

Rasool finally opened his mouth regarding the controversy and lashed out at his social media trollers and urged them to keep a cricketer away from the politics and allow him to concentrate on his game. Rasool opened up his mind in a recent interview with a popular tv channel.

Let Cricketers Play Cricket:

Rasool who remained unsold during the IPL Auction very recently said this kind of things can happen in cricket. “Let cricketers play cricket and don’t involve them into politics unnecessarily. I try to keep my focus on the game and don’t let these controversies affect me,” Rasool said in his interview.

“It is already very difficult for cricketers from our region to make it into the national team and when these things happen, it is very disheartening. One has to remain tough and should not give importance to such controversies,” he further added.

“It is just part and parcel of the game and I am not sad that I wasn’t picked up in the IPL auction. I was amongst the top all-rounders in this year’s Ranji Trophy and would like to keep performing whenever I get a chance to play,” Rasool concluded.

As per law, Rasool didn’t cause any disturbance intentionally to the singing of the national anthem so he wasn’t reprimanded legally. But his approach didn’t go down well with the Indian spectators and lashed out at him following the incident.

Rasool made his debut in the first T20 match against England in Kanpur but was dragged into controversy when during the National Anthem he was seen chewing a gum.
