Sri Lanka Cricket Attempts To Clear T20 Toss Confusion With Another Video, Twitterati Claims It Is Clearly An Edited Version [WATCH VIDEO]

Team India outplayed Sri Lanka in all three departments of the game throughout the long tour and became the first ever team to whitewash Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. The visitors extended their winning run to nine straight matches against the hapless hosts.

India vs Sri Lanka T20I Toss

India completed a 9-0 whitewash in Sri Lanka by winning the one-off T20I in Colombo on Wednesday. In the one-off T20I, a bit of confusion between match referee and presenter created a huge controversy. The controversy began after a video on YouTube raised doubts over who won the toss in one-off T20I.

While it seemed Virat Kohli won the toss after Upul Tharanga flipped the coin, a closer look revealed a different picture. After introducing the party, presenter Murali Karthik requested Sri Lanka captain Upul Tharanga to toss the coin and Indian captain Virat Kohli called Heads.

The coin went rolling on the turf and the match referee Andy Mycroft said “Tails, India” thinking Virat had called tails and Murali Karthik went towards Virat Kohli to know his decision.

However, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has attempted to clear the air surrounding the toss in the one-off T20 international in Colombo between India and Sri Lanka. Amidst controversy, SLC tweeted a video of the incident and said that match referee Andy Pycroft took the correct call.

“#SLvInd T20I: Match Referee Andy PYCROFT called it correctly – “Heads India”, SLC wrote on twitter.

Many said that SLC was under pressure to put this clarification, as BCCI wasn’t happy with all the talks regarding the toss. However, social media did not take this clarification too kindly and criticized the SLC for trying to edit and enhance the voice and yet failing to clear the confusion.

Finally, Sri Lanka made 170, after a poor start that saw the team getting restricted to 46/2. India, on the other hand, had no trouble batting second. They clinched the game with four balls to spare.
