This Post By Virat Kohli For His Sister On Raksha Bandhan Will Melt Your Heart

We all know that whenever Virat Kohli is off the field or having no matches to play, he spends most of his free time with his family and friends. This proves Virat Kohli is a family man. He even shares pictures of his family and friends once in a while.

In between tours, he finds time out to visit his mother and pet beagle Bruno. His Instagram handle is also replete with photographs of his family members.

Rakshabandhan cricketers

On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, many celebrities have taken to social media to wish their siblings. Among them is Indian cricket team’s captain Virat Kohli, who put up the sweetest post to wish everyone a happy Raksha Bandhan.

As Kohli is far away from playing in Sri Lanka, he is missing the company of his sister. So, Kohli took to Twitter to send his sister the greetings and write a touching message that will melt your heart.

Sharing two pictures of his sister, one in which he can be seen posing with her, Virat wrote, “A very Happy Rakshabandhan to everyone across the world celebrating, missing Didi and everyone at home today.”

His sister’s name is Bhavana, whom he is very close to.

Kohli is currently in Sri Lanka for a three-Test series which India lead 2-0. They will also play five ODIs and a one-off T20 International in the island nation. India has already clinched the series (2-0) with victories over Sri Lanka in the first two Tests at Galle and Colombo. Kohli became the first-ever Indian captain to win two Test series in Sri Lanka.

Kohli extended his dream run as captain to eighth consecutive Test series victory and surpassed Steve Waugh’s record of seven consecutive series. Ricky Ponting holds the record with nine series victories in a row. Kohli’s record as captain in this time has been phenomenal, to say the least.

In 28 Tests, Kohli has registered 18 wins, three losses, and six draws. Overall, Kohli has 18 wins and is just four away from overtaking Sourav Ganguly’s record of Test 21 wins and become India’s second most successful captain after Dhoni (27 wins).
