Unlucky Dismissal: Shane Watson Fails To Kick Ball Away From Stumps

Yesterday, in the match between England and Australia, Shane Watson was dismissed quite different way. Watson played back to a delivery from bowler Steven Finn but watched in alarm as the ball trickled towards the stumps. Shane Watson was not quick enough with his legs to stop the ball trickling on to the stumps. Watson’s attempt to play back to a Steven Finn delivery went wrong.

It looked awkward and everyone in the stadium laughed at Watson’s poor led work at the stumps. Watson’s performance since World Cup was too worse and he can’t help his team to get runs or even take wickets. Instead he was scoring very less runs and conceding lot of runs while bowling. And Watson is struggling to claim his place in the team with a good knock and his performance.

Watson was dismissed as LBW many times in Tests and there might be some trouble for him getting his pads in the way. Australia Captain Steve Smith, the non-striker at the time, smiled to reporters. “I guess that’s just the game of cricket though. It was a tough one for him and we had to rebuild after that.” Watson was hoping to give his international career a fresh start, his pads deserted him.

Watson has been trapped LBW around 30 times in his Test career. Such moments will definitely embarrass him in his further matches. Coming to leg spinner Cameron Boyce, he bowled just one over conceding 19 runs. Moeen Ali smashed him for two sixes and a four. Thus he was not given second over. Australia had lost the match by 5 runs.

Before the match Watson posted a video on his twitter account speaking about his hunger to put his Ashes disappointment behind him. “It’s been a tough couple of weeks. One after the Australian team losing the Ashes, but also not really playing a part from the first Test here in Cardiff,” Watson said on the clip.
