All the teammates circled Nehra, while, captain Virat Kohli stepped forward congratulating and thanking the senior bowler after all he has done for the team in all these years.

Well, the farewell streak didn’t end here. Skipper Kohli has given the last over of the match to Nehra. Kiwis were in a critical situation where they have to attain 54 runs in just 6 balls. The crowd already went crazy over hailing “We Love You Nehra Ji” and “Miss You” placards. Amidst all this, the nervousness has clouded Nehra, but, that didn’t affect his bowling in any manner.

In an ace manner, Nehra completed his masterful career giving away only 5 runs in the last over of his 18 years long cricket journey. But, it is Virat Kohli’s gesture to the crowd urging them to cheer aloud for the retired bowler, it literally stole the show of the day and Nehra just after winning the match went giving a warm hug to the captain.

As an able left-arm medium fast bowler, he has represented India at the international level since 1999. Due to fitness issues, he has been absent from the national scene for extended stretches but has been a part of the Indian team in two largely successful World Cup campaigns, two Asia Cups, and three Champions Trophies.

He has also been particularly effective in the IPL, in which he has represented five different teams. Nehra was called “one of the best bowlers that the Indian team has ever seen” by Ravi Shastri.
