Actress Sonam Kapoor was admitted to suburban Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital for treatment of H1N1 influenza virus early Sunday (March 1) morning. Director of the hospital, Dr Ram Narain said, “She is stable and is under observation in our ward.”

Sonam Kapoor flown to Mumbai for Swine flu treatment:

She was shooting for Sooraj Barjatya’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo in Rajkot when she complained of cough, respiratory problems and mild fever. The actor was then admitted to Sterling Hospital in Rajkot where she was tested positive for swine flu. The film cast and crew has been shooting in Gondal in Rajkot district and Chotila of Surendranagar district since last week.

Spokesperson for Sterling Hospital confirmed the actress had tested positive for H1N1 virus. “She had been admitted to the hospital at around 10 am on Saturday. Dr Chirag Matravadiya, examined her. As the patient had symptoms of cold, fever etc, the doctor recommended her swine flu test. The lab tests came positive for H1N1virus in the evening,” said the spokesperson.

 

Meanwhile, Rajkot Police Commissioner Mohan Zha, on Friday, imposed section 144 of Indian Penal Code in the city in the wake of swine flu and imposed restrictions on mega events.

According to health department of Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC), over 58 swine flu positive cases have been reported in city since January 1 and six people have succumbed to swine flu in the city.

Sonam, who is the daughter of actor and producer Anil Kapoor, is known for her roles in ‘Delhi-6’, ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ and ‘Doli Ki Doli’. Sonam’s mother Sunita arrived today and she was likely to fly her daughter back to Mumbai, said a source close to the actress.
