While here is a strange thing which happened a few days a back leaving people on the busy roads of Red Hill Avenue to be spell-bound. A small plane with an instructor and student pilot made an emergency landing on an Irvine street.

During the rush hours of traffic, a Piper Cherokee aircraft landed near John Wayne Airport at Red Hill and McGaw avenues. It is being reported that a student was piloting the Piper Cherokee upon takeoff from the airport when the engine stopped, the Coast Report Online noted. Then the instructor seized the controls, guiding the plane safely down the street.

An Irvine police spokesperson Farrah Emami said “a Piper Cherokee aircraft landed at 6:18 p.m. near John Wayne Airport at Red Hill and McGaw avenues during rush-hour traffic, coming to a stop at MacArthur Boulevard.
