First let us have a brief analysis of IBPS Clerk Exam December 7th 2014 Evening Session. If we check out the pattern there is no difference and it is similar to the previous exam pattern. But, still I will explain the exam pattern for the newbie’s over here.

Reasoning:

Questions in the reasoning was not time eating like that of the previous session. There were just bit tricky. Hopefuls who are strong at basics and practiced variety of questions in the preparation time can easily score decent score in this section. Examiner covered the questions from all the concepts to test the candidates grip on the reasoning part. Most of the questions were seen in linear arrangements, circular arrangements, complex arrangements, data sufficiency; codes based statements and conclusions, alpha numeric series, directions, Letter symbol coding and syllogisms. Those who have proper practice with variety of questions and puzzles can deal with this section effectively. A decent score in this section on average would be around 30 to 35 and the time taken to complete this section will be 25 to 30 minutes.

Numerical Ability:

It seems the paper setter was same for both Reasoning section and Quantitative Section (This is just our guess). Both the sections moved with same strategy. This section is also not time consuming with lengthy questions as found in previous sessions. Candidates who are good at concepts and who has good calculation skill with ability to solve the simple trick involved in the questions can perform well in this section. Questions covered from all the concepts to test the candidate ability and knowledge on basic concepts of numerical ability. Major part is contributed to BODMAS and its approximations along with these concepts of simple and compound interest, profit and loss, time and distance also played a key role. On average it is expected that candidate can score around 30 to 35 marks in the section just like in the reasoning part.

General English:

This section is considered a difficult. This section only favors the candidates who have good reading skills. Even the candidates who practiced well with every part of the section from the first day struggles to answer this section. Questions from reading comprehension appeared more in number. 4 reading comprehensions appeared in the paper and almost 15 to 20 questions appeared from this part. Passages were lengthy, difficult to read which in turn will be time consuming. Candidates who have concrete background in the English language can crack this section. Apart from reading comprehension questions from fill in the blanks, find the errors, jumbled sentences and cloze test appeared in the paper. Apart from Reading Comprehension lot of questions appeared from Jumbled Sentences and cloze test part. Decent candidate can grab 25 questions in his basket and on average candidates can answer 25 questions in this part with possible score of 22 in the section.

General Awareness:

Questions from this section majorly appeared from banking and finance part. Questions on last 6 months current affairs also appeared more in number. Traditional General Awareness part also appeared in the section. Though the questions were straight the questions on banking awareness and economy part were bit tougher than usual. On average candidates can answer 25 to 28 questions with accuracy.

Computer Knowledge:

As we said this section appears as usual. Highly scoring part for candidate’s ever as every candidate will have basic knowledge about computers in this modern world. This section’s main intention is to pertain the job seeker’s basic computer skills. Hopefuls with basic knowledge of hardware and elementary software applications can rule this section. Questions majorly appeared from concepts like internet applications, software’s, window applications and operating systems. On average candidate can answer 35 questions in this section.
