Borivali, Mumbai: A 35-year-old man was arrested by the police after he forced his 8-year-old son to beg in the streets for money.

Authorities arrested Ramesh Kajendra Kale, the 35-year-old father after his 8-year-old son was seen asking money from taxi passengers and auto-rickshaw passengers in Borivali, Mumbai.

The 8-year-old boy, whose identity was not shared with the public, told the police his father forces him to beg for money all day long when the police approached him.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the father of the 8-year-old boy would drop his son by 10 am every day in Borivali.

The 8-year-old boy claims he usually begged from 10 am to 6 pm.

The police arrested the father of the boy after he made the claims.

Further investigation will be done by the police.
