Dad Kills 14-Year-Old Son Because “He’d Rather Have A Dead Son Than A Gay Son”

A father reportedly murdered his 14-year-old teenage son because he would rather “have a dead son than a gay son”.

Wendell Melton was arrested by the cops 2 years ago in connection with the death of Giovanni, his 14-year-old son.

He is currently facing charges of open murder, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and first-degree child abuse.

Veronica Melton, the mother of Giovanni, said she is still waiting for justice.

Veronica said her heart was broken by the fatal shooting of her 14-year-old son by her homophobic ex-husband.

2 years ago, 53-year-old Melton shot his teenage son inside an apartment where Giovanni lived by himself.

Previously, Melton told the police that he had accidentally pulled the trigger after he got into a heated argument with his son.

People that were close to Giovanni, the victim, said his dad usually had fights with him because of his sexuality.

Sonja Jones, the former foster mother of Giovanni, said Melton had problems with his son’s sexual orientation.

Jones said, “He hated the fact that his son was gay. I’m sure that inside of his mind, he would rather have a dead son than a gay son.”

Jones said the father had previously pulled a gun on his 14-year-old son when he caught him with his boyfriend.

Veronica, the mother of Giovanni, believes that the death of his son was an accident that was the sum of an argument that became physical.

Veronica said her ex-husband didn’t mean to pull the trigger.

She added, “My ex-husband was always trying to find out if my son was gay, but my son would never tell him.”

14-year-old Giovanni was killed 2 months after he came out to his mother.

Veronica believes Giovanni told his father that he was gay around the same time.

Veronica said Melton didn’t deal well with the news that her son broke out.

When Melton was married to Veronica, the father would make disrespectful remarks against the people that were gay.

Melton is still to go to trial and is currently under house arrest.

The next court appearance of Melton is scheduled in February 2020.
