US President Donald Trump Bans TikTok And WeChat After Signing Order To Protect National Security

Donald Trump, the president of the United States of America, has signed an order that will ban TikTok, a social media application that is owned by a Chinese company.

The ban will come into effect in 46 days.

The order that was released by the White House reads:

I, Donald J Trump President of the United States of America, find that additional steps must be taken to deal with the national emergency with respect to the information and communications technology and services…. Specifically, the spread in the United States of mobile applications developed and owned by companies in the People’s Republic of China continues to threaten the national security, foreign policy, and economy. At this time, action must be taken to address the threat posed by one mobile application in particular, Tik Tok.

He announced the news in a statement that was aimed towards China, which is in a trading war and is facing hatred all over the world because of the pandemic.

President Trump says that the United States must take aggressive action against the owners of TikTok to protect our national security.

The executive order bans transactions with ByteDance, the company that owns TikTok.

Trump said that the application is using information from users in the United States, which benefits the Communist Party of China.

Trump has also banned WeChat, an application that is owned by Tencent, a company in China.

TikTok denies accusations that claim they are being controlled by the government of China.
