Watch: Partially Blind Baby Sees Mom for the First Time And His Reaction Will Melt Your Heart

Leopold Wilbur Reppond, a four-month-old baby from Seattle was born with a rare disorder called Oculocutaneous Albinism, or OCA which affects the pigmentation of the skin, hair, and eyes and has left him with extremely impaired vision. Leo has never been able to see his mother clearly until he tried on new glasses for the first time last week.

The smile on his face when he actually saw his mom for the first time will melt your heart.

The adorable, emotional moment between Leopold and his excited mother, Erin, was caught on camera by his dad, David Reppond, a film producer. He then posted the video on the internet.

As you can see in the video, after a few moments when Leo’s mother puts the glasses on her baby, he looks up and sees his mother, then smiles and giggles. “I was overwhelmed with emotion. It’s just very touching”, said his mother.

Los Angeles-based pediatric ophthalmologist helped them get the special infant glasses, which have normal lenses but are made of a special rubber-like material which has no screws, no hinges and no sharp edges.
