Breaking news: 2 terrorists dead in an encounter with the police in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir, officials have also recovered a number of firearms and ammunition from the terrorists.

The police were acting on a tip-off that they received about terrorists living in Gopalpora, Kulgam.

The police then launched a search operation for the terrorists.

An official statement that was released by the Kulgam police said, “During the search operation, the hiding terrorists fired on the search party. The fire was retaliated, leading to an encounter.”

The police added that the 2 dead bodies of the terrorists have been sent for identity verification.

The police statement added, “The identities and affiliations of the killed terrorists are being ascertained.”

The police also recovered a number of firearms and ammunition from the crime scene.

As part of the protocol measures in the state, the government of Jammu and Kashmir has stopped internet services in the district of Kulgam.
