Taxi Drivers In India Fined For Not Keeping Condoms In Their First-Aid Kits
Earlier this week, a number of taxi drivers started to share fake news by claiming the Delhi Police was fining them for not keeping condoms in their first-aid kit.
But on September 21, 2019, the Delhi Traffic Police clarified that they were not handing out fines to drivers for not storing condoms.
During an interview with ANI, a news agency in India, Taj Hasan, the Special Commissioner of Traffic Police, said, “There is nothing mentioned in The Motor Vehicles Act about condoms. We are not issuing any challan to drivers for not having condoms in their first aid kits.”

A number of taxi drivers in New Delhi claimed they were fined for not carrying condoms in their first-aid kits.
According to a cab driver, condoms are used to stop the bleeding or to treat a wound.
Cab drivers in Delhi say they've been carrying condoms, besides other medicines, in their first aid kits as they're penalised by police if found without condoms in their first aid kits. Kamaljeet, a cab driver in New Delhi, said, “If any person has a fracture, a condom can be tied at the spot till the person reaches the hospital.”
Well, I didn’t think you could use condoms for a new use…
