The woman died at a hospital in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on the evening of January 17, 2020.

The 6 men, Abid, Mintu, Mahboob, Chaand Babu, Jameel, and Firoz, were arrested in 2018 after they molested the 13-year-old daughter of the woman.
