Breif Story:
A story about love, loss and everything in between, Fireflies is an earnest attempt at changing the way cinema is consumed by Indian audiences. A successful corporate player, Shiv inhabits the world of glass offices, posh apartments, golf courses and parties at fine restaurants. But he’s unhappy with his marriage and the choices he made in life. So he escapes into the arms of Sharmila, an old college flame (Shivani Ghai).Meanwhile Rana, a free-spirited repairer of bikes, escapes to Thailand to make a new life as a diving instructor. What he’s fleeing is anyone’s guess. While working as a temporary bartender, Rana meets Michelle (Monica Dogra), a writer seeking respite from her own demons. This movie is written & Directed by Sabal Singh Shekhawat.
The performances are underplayed and subdued in keeping with the mood of the film. The dialogues, apart from a couple that may stay with you, do not do much to capture your interest either. The look of the film deceives you into believing that there is depth of content, but what it actually offers is an honest attempt at delivering it.
