According to the reports two smartphone production houses named Samsung Korea’s brand and Xiaomi Chinese Smartphone Brand sells approximately 10 millions of smartphones in the Indian market. All the units which were stated above are shipped in just 1 quarter of the financial year 2018 which was started in April and ends in June.
When experts analyzed the data the result was somewhat shocking, Samsung and Xiaomi captures 60% market of smartphones in India. Canalys firm conducted this research.
As per the reports in the April-June quarter demand for smartphones is increased up to 22%. Total expected demand for the whole quarter is 33 million units. Out of which Samsung and Xiaomi shipped about 10 million units.
Statement of Canalys firm
Canalys firm who conducted the study on the selling smartphones stated that these two companies collectively captures 60% of the smartphone market in India. Both the companies had only 43% market share year ago.
Xiaomi doubled its shipment in India. It helps Xiaomi to grow and create vast consumer segment in every part of India. By introducing new Smartphones regularly attracts customer towards the brand. Which results in an increase in shipment by the company and more revenue.
Samsung annual growth rate reaches up to 50%. It was the best results after the 4th quarter of the financial year 2015. Apart from this Samsung recently launched two Budget smartphones which attract many customers towards it. People always preferred Samsung as a reliable brand.
Top 3 Smartphones Brands in India
If we talk about the top 3 Smartphones brands in India, once again the first place was reserved by one and only Samsung, followed by Xiaomi. While Vivo is on third place with a shipment of about 3.6 million smartphones in quarter 2 of the financial year 2018.

Tuananh Nguyen who is an analyst for Canalys Firm said that Samsung is planning again to hit the market against Xiaomi. Nowadays the company is focusing on the quality of cameras. Apart from this he also stated that 50% reduces the shipment of Apple iPhones in quarter 2 of 2018.
Manager of Canalys Firm stated that smartphone companies have to decide their priorities before. They have to choose between profitability and volume growth.
