A 26-year-old man from Texas has tested positive for the coronavirus 3 times in the past 2 months.
26-year-old Christian Bermea, who is from Houston, Texas, said he was first diagnosed with the novel coronavirus on March 19, 2020, and has tested positive 2 times after that.
Christian said he first started to feel unwell on March 16, 2020, when he had dry cough and fever.
He said that the symptoms of the virus just come and go.
During an interview with ABC in March this year, Christian said:
I don’t know how I got it, but as soon as I started showing symptoms, I called into work, like, ‘Please let me work from home.’ My work was great about it. I just started taking action immediately.
His fever reached 102F and was accompanied by tight chest feeling and fatigue.
Fast forward today, Christian is still sick and is desperate for the virus to just end.
In a recent interview with Fox6, he said:
I’m ready for it to be done. I definitely feel a lot better than I did at the beginning, but I’m still not at 100 %. My smell isn’t as good as it used to be, fatigue, and shortness of breath.
He has been battling with the deadly virus for over 52 days now.
Talking about the virus, he said:
This virus isn’t just a physical process, it’s a mental one, too. You’re almost stuck with your thoughts. I’m scared because there’s still a virus inside me.
Doctors are wondering on what is happening inside the body of Christian.
Talking about the case of Christian, Dr. Sandberg, a doctor with the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, said:
A patient like this raises many questions. A positive test does not mean you’re able to infect other people. It means you have part of the genetic code in your body.
Christian said that he will be getting tested for the virus again this week.
In normal cases, it only takes 2 to 6 weeks to recover from the novel coronavirus.
