Mumbai Priest Commits Suicide After Finding Out Lockdown Extension
A 35-year-old Hindu priest from Kandivali, Mumbai, committed suicide on the afternoon of April 14, 2020, after finding out that the lockdown measures in the country have been extended until May 3, 2020.
35-year-old Krishna Pujari, a priest, was found dead a couple of hours after learning that the lockdown measures have been extended.
Pujari was working as a priest with the Durga Mata Temple in the Iraniwadi area of Sanjay Nagar.
Pujari, who was living with 3 other priests, was waiting for the lockdown to end so he could go back to his town.
After learning about the lockdown extension, he got depressed.
He was found hanging in the kitchen of the temple.
Authorities said that there was no suicide note found on the premises of the temple.
