Over 100,000 Worshippers Ignore Coronavirus Lockdown To Gather For Religious Ceremony In Bangladesh

Over 100,000 worshippers were caught on cam gathering for a religious ceremony in Bangladesh as they completely ignored all the coronavirus lockdown measures.

Authorities are now worrying about the mass spread of the virus.

Pictures that are viral on the internet right now shows worshippers attending the funeral prayers of an Islamic religious preacher, Maulana Zubayer Amad Ansari, at a mass outdoor event in Brahmanbaria.

The police in the country are now trying to find out how the crowd managed to attend the funeral prayers of the religious preacher despite the coronavirus lockdown.

Bangladesh, which is one of the most populated countries in the world, has been in lockdown since March 26, 2020, with measures set to remain in place until April 25.

The country currently has a ban on funerals, which only allows 5 people to attend the ceremony.

In Brahmanbaria over 100,000 people flooded the roads to attend the funeral of the preacher.

The police came to the scene, but they failed to control the crowd and were forced to withdraw.

An investigation has been launched, said Sohel Rana, Bangladesh Police Central spokesman.
