The Board of Secondary Education, Odisha (abbreviated BSE) is a board of education for public and private schools under the state government of Odisha, India. The BSE was formed under the Odisha Education Act 1953. The board controls and maintains all the necessary secondary education in the state of Odisha. Under this board, various courses are offered to students for different occupations and to prepare the students for university.
It conducts various examinations for the recruitment of various posts in different departments. This year it has released notification for the OTET 2017.

Name of the Exam: Odisha Teachers Eligibility Test (OTET)

Eligibility Criteria:
For paper, I- Candidates need to have a minimum of 50% marks at +2 or equivalent examination and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or a 2-year Diploma in Education(Special Education)

For paper II– Candidates need to have a minimum of 50% marks at their graduation level examination and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) or 1-year B.Ed.(Special Education) or Higher Secondary (+2 or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A.Ed./ B.Sc.Ed.
Exam Pattern:
Paper 1 will be for 150 marks and will contain question on child development and pedagogy, a regional language (Odia, Urdu, Hindi, Telugu or Bengali), English, mathematics and environmental studies.
Paper 2 will also have a weightage of 150 marks. It will include questions on three compulsory subjects— child development and pedagogy, a regional language and English— and an optional subject. Candidates can choose between maths and science or social studies for the optional section.

- Payment link is displayed on the screen where you need to enter the payment details.
- You need to check the box behind SBI Collect and “Type of Institution”.
- Click on submit button after entering all the details.
- Select payment category as “Fee for 1st OTET, 2017”
- You can select Net Banking, ATM, and Cash payment through bank challan.
