Railway Recruitment Board has made the RRB Group D exam pattern 2018 available. The Group D examination is scheduled to be held from 17th October. Thus, candidates who applied for the recruitment earlier this year and have been preparing for the same test can now check out the paper pattern to know how many questions would be asked from a particular section, the time duration of the test etc. On 26th August, a notice was issued according to which, Exam city, date and shift details would be made live 10 days prior to the start of Computer Based Test.

The Railway Recruitment Board has published the exam pattern on 29th August.
- Questions in Computer Based Test will be positioned from these four sections: Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Science and General Awareness and Current Affairs.
- Number of Questions: 25 – Mathematics, 30 General Intelligence and Reasoning, 25 – General Science and 20 – General Awareness and Current Affairs. The question paper will consist of total 100 questions.
- 90 minutes duration would be given to candidates to finish their test. Time duration will be 120 minutes for eligible PwD (Persons with Disabilities) candidates accompanied with the scribe.

Maths – Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
General Science: Topics under this section would be based on the cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of the 10th standard level.
General Awareness on current affairs: Politics, Economics, Culture, Personalities, Science and Technology, Sports etc.
For the selection of suitable candidates, First Stage: Computer Based Test would be organised and it must be qualified in order to appear for the next stage – Physical Efficiency Test. After that Document verification would be organised.
