Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission TNPSC has released a notification regarding the recruitment of 324 Assistant Engineer posts for the year of 2018, Applicants who are interested can apply through online mode only, the Final date for the online applications is March 26th, 2018. Candidates should go through Engineering Services Examination for the direct recruitment. It is mandatory for the applicants to register their particulars through one-time online registration system which costs only Rs. 150/- towards the registration. And then only they can apply online for the recruitment. This one-time registration will be valid until next 5 years from the date of registration. If the candidate wants to renew the registration they can do it by paying the prescribed fee.

TNPSC AE Recruitment 2018:

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has a particular distinction of being the successor of the first Provincial Public Service Commission, i.e., the Madras Service Commission which came into being under an Act of the Madras Legislature in 1929, in order to recruit persons to the Provincial and Subordinate Services. The Commission is required to advise the Government on all matters relating to framing of recruitment rules, principles to be followed in making appointments and promotions and transfers from one service to another service, in respect of disciplinary matters affecting Government Servants and to conduct examinations for selection of candidates under direct recruitment to the State, Subordinate and Ministerial Services.

Age Limit of the candidates:

General Candidates: Should be under 30 years as on 01.07.2018.

SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs, BCMs and Destitute Widows of all Castes – There is no age limit for the reserved categories.

Educational Qualification:

For The Post Of Assistant Engineer (Civil) In Water Resources and Buildings(PWD)

Qualification for the post of Post Of Assistant Engineer In Water Resources Department or Public Works Department should be

B.E degree in Civil Engineering or Civil and Structural Engineering
OR
Passed in Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations under Civil Engineering branch, subject to the following
further conditions such as

I. Should furnish evidence of having undergone practical training in surveying for a period of not less then one year.
or
II. Should have put in service for a period of not less then one year in Public Works Department as Overseer or Junior Engineer.
or
III. Should hold the Upper Subordinate or L.C.E Diploma of the College of Engineering, Guindy or L.C.E.
Diploma awarded by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Chennai

For Assistant Engineer (Electrical) in PWD

Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics and Communication Engineering
OR
A pass in Sections A and B of the Institution Examination with Electrical Engineering as a subject.

For Assistant Engineer in Highways Department:

A Degree In Civil Engineering or Passed in Sections A,B of the Institution Examinations under civil engineering Branch.

For Assistant Engineer in Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department:

A Degree in Civil Engineering or A pass in Sections A and B of the Institution of Engineers (INDIA) under Civil Engineering Branch, Subject to the condition that he/she should furnish evidence of having undergone practical training in surveying for a period of not less than one year.

Applicants selected for appointment to the posts are required to submit a Certificate of Physical Fitness in the form of prescribed.

And Applicants must possess adequate knowledge in Tamil.

Aptitude and Mental Ability: 25
Interview and Records: 70

Cutoff Marks

For Reserved Candidates SCs/SC(A)s,STs,MBCs/DCs,BC(OBCM)s and BCMs : 171

FEE DETAILS

Examination Fee for the Both Papers is Rs. 200/- only, Which is payable by online banking/credit card/ debit card or By offline at State Bank of India/ Indian bank within 2 Days from the Date of Submission.

Applicants have to register their basic perticulars through one time online registration as said earlier, Which will be valid for 5 years and can be renewed further.

Applicants have to pay the service charges applicable to the State Bank Of India/ Indian Bank.

Applicants can avail exemption from Paying examination fee as per the eligibility criteria. Offline Payment in the Mode of Demand Draft or Postal Order will not be accepted.
