Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on behalf of University Grants Commission (UGC) has released the notification for National Eligibility Test (NET) which is going to held in the month of December 2015. The examination is conducted to select candidates for the role of Assistant Professor/Lecturer and for Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) in Indian Universities and Colleges. UGC NET Registration For December 2015:
The University Grants Commission (UGC) of India is a statutory body set up by the Indian Union government in 1956, and is charged with coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of higher education. Its headquarters is in New Delhi, and six regional centers in Pune, Bhopal, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Guwahati and Bangalore. UGC, along with CSIR currently conducts NET for appointments of teachers in colleges and universities. It has made NET qualification mandatory for teaching at Graduation level and at Post Graduation level since July 2009. It conducts NET examination twice a year. It has already conducted the examination in the month of June/July 2015. Now, UGC is going to conduct NET 2015 examination on 27th December 2015. Eligibility Criteria:
The award of JRF and Eligibility for Assistant Professor both OR Eligibility for Assistant Professor only will depend on the performance of the candidate in the examination.
Age Limit:
Junior Research Fellowship: Not more than 28 years as on 01.12.2015. Age relaxation will be applicable as per rules.
Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit for applying for eligibility for Assistant Professor.
Application Fee:
Candidates belonging to the General Category should pay Rs.600/-, for Other Backward Classes (Non-creamy layer), fee is Rs. 300/- and for SC/ST/PWD it is 150/-
Examination Pattern:
The UGC NET is divided into three Papers
Paper-I: It tests the teaching and researching abilities of the candidate. With total 100 marks Paper I has 50 questions out of 60 are to be attempted.
Paper II: It is based on the individual chosen subject and is of total 100 marks with 50 questions and all are compulsory.
Paper III: It is again based on the individual subject but goes more into the depth of the subject. It has a total 150 marks with 75 questions which are all compulsory.
