UGC NET registration December 2018 has been started and will last until 30th September. As the National Testing Agency will conduct the National Eligibility Test on the behalf of University Grants Commission (UGC). And it will be organised twice a year, once in December and the second time in the month of July. December exam is scheduled to be held from 9th December to 23rd December.

All the eligible students can make registration through the official website of NTA NET 2018 exam – ntanet.nic.in. The new candidate’s registration can be done in three steps – fill the application form first, upload the scanned photograph and signature and pay the examination fee. Already registered candidates can sign in using application number and password. Under step 1, candidates have to enter the required details correctly. Applicants also have to create a password. Once the form completed, an application number will be generated and students should note that number.
Examination Fee: General candidates have to pay Rs. 800/-, OBC applicants: Rs. 400/- and SC/ ST/ Person with Disabilities/ Transgender: Rs. 200/-.
Payment can be made using Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking/ e-challan. After successful payment, applicants will be able to print the confirmation page. If in case the confirmation page is not generated, then the transaction is cancelled and the amount will be refunded to the candidate’s account.
Educational Qualifications: Applicants who have completed master’s degree or equivalent from a recognised university/ institution with at least 55 per cent marks are eligible for the National Eligibility Test. Minimum required marks are 50 per cent for the candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PwD, OBC category and transgender candidates.
One of the major changes made is, National Testing Agency will conduct two papers instead of 3 papers. Paper 1 will consist of questions to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidate. A total of 50 multiple choice questions would be there in Paper 1 and each question would carry 100 marks. 1 hour duration would be given to finish the Paper 1. The Paper 2 will comprise of 100 questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. Each question of Paper 2 also carries two marks and students will be given two hours duration.
