UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2015: Exam to be conducted on August 23

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for the most prestigious examination IAS (Indian Administrative Service) and large number of interested and eligible candidates applied for the examination. The UPSC Civil Services (IAS) Preliminary Examination 2015 is going to held on 23rd August 2015. The examination is conducted in three stages i.e; Preliminary, Main and the Interview. The candidates who have qualified in the preliminary examination are eligible for the further rounds. All the applied candidates can download the admit card from the official website as it was already released.


UPSC Civil Services Examination 2015:

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is India’s central agency authorized to conduct the Civil Services Examination, Indian Forest Service examination, Engineering Services Examination, Combined Defense Services Examination, National Defense Academy Examination, Naval Academy Examination, Combined Medical Services Examination, Special Class Railway Apprentice, Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, Combined Geo scientist and Geologist Examination, and Central Armed Police Forces(Assistant Commandant) Examination.

This year UPSC is going to conduct IAS preliminary examination on 23rd August 2015. The candidates who have applied for the examination can download the admit card as it is mandatory write the exam. The test is conducted across various centers in India.

UPSC Civil Services Examination Pattern:

The UPSC Civil Services (IAS) Preliminary Examination 2015 is a competitive examination comprises two successive stages Civil Services (Preliminary) Examinations which is Objective Type. The qualified candidates are selected for Main Examination and Civil Services (Main) Examination. These are the written examination. Further there will be interview round for the selected candidates.

The Civil Services Preliminary Examination will consist of two papers of Objective type (multiple choice questions) and carry a maximum of 400 marks. UPSC Civil Services (IAS) written examination will consist of 9 papers of conventional essay type, out of which two papers will be of qualifying in nature. The marks obtained for all the compulsory papers (Paper-I to Paper-VII) and marks obtained in Interview for Personality Test will be counted for ranking.

Note: There will be a negative marking for incorrect question except some of the questions where the negative marking will be inbuilt in the form of different marks being awarded to the most appropriate and not so appropriate answer for such questions.
