Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is the national level aptitude test conducted by Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) Jamshedpur, for admission to its flagship business management (BM), Personnel Management and Industrial Relations (PMIR) programs and 15 months full-time residential GMP (General Management Program). Every year XAT exam is conducted and large number of students appear for the examination to get the admissions into XLRI Jamshedpur and other Xavier Associate Management Institutes and over 120 B-schools across India. This year XAT 2016 is expected to be held on January 3rd 2016 Sunday. According to External Linkage Cell of XLRI, Sarthak Gupta “the exam will be taking place in first Sunday of January 2016. XAT 2016 Examination Eligiblity and Exam Pattern :
The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is a national level aptitude test conducted in India by XLRI (formerly known as Xavier Labour Relations Institute), a business school in Jamshedpur in the state of Jharkhand in India, as an entrance test for its and other highly reputed institutes, including Xavier Institute of Management and Goa Institute of Management programs. After CAT examination XAT is one of the toughest examination for admission to management programs.

XAT may introduce a single form for XLRI and XAT this year on-wards. Till last year students planning to take admissions to XLRI had to fill two different forms one for XAT and another for the institute. Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) follow similar pattern wherein candidates need to fill up a single form for CAT exam and IIMs.

Application Procedure for XAT 2016:
The application form of XAT 2016 will be available from last week of August 2015 or 1st week of September 2015 in online. The candidates should fill the online application and pay the fee before the last date.
Application Fee:
Last year, the application fee is 1000 /- and this year also it might be same. The application fee can be paid through Cash, Net Banking, Demand Draft, Credit Card or Debit Card.
XAT 2016 Examination Pattern :
XAT is a written examination with 3 hour duration. It consists of two papers. Paper-1 consists of objective, multiple choice questions from three sections. The duration of paper 1 is 2 hours 20 minutes.
- Quantitative Ability
- English Language & Logical Reasoning
- Decision Making
Paper-2 is partly subjective and objective. It comprises of two sections and the duration is 40 minutes
- General Knowledge and
- Essay Writing.
The General Awareness section consists of 30 questions.
