100 Mini Theatres to Entertain Andhra Pradesh Indian Cinema Buffs

Kauphy Talkies along with hundred of producers and exhibitors is executing its plan of establishing and running mini-theatres in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Wayward to the rumors of lacking support from both the state governments to run mini-theatres, Kauphy Talkies has worked on this experimental project determinately.

Kauphy Talkies to Establish 100 Odd Mini Theatres in 52 Bus Stations

Tollywood Telugu film industry film Nagar reliable sources reported that a few weeks ago Kauphy Talkies has performed Bhoomi puja in AP to establish 100-odd theatres in 52 bus stations, including Vijayawada, Vizag, Tirupati, Palakollu and other places in the first phase. This incident took place immediately after the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh had approved for the set up of mini theatres in the state.

It is being speculated that Telangana state government would too follow the same the path of Andhra Pradesh nodding approval for the establishment of mini theatres across the state. Although Kauphy Talkies approached both state administrations with the proposal while AP CM Nara Chandra Babu Naidu approved the request at the earliest discovering potential in it.

AP CM Naidu Approves and Encourages Mini Theatres, Telangana CM KCR to Follow

An official of AP government said, “Naidu was impressed with the small theatres concept and immediately asked Sambasiva Rao, MD, APSRTC, to identify places for them and Bhoomi puja was performed to kick-start the concept. The government even eased norms and urged exhibitors to meet MROs directly and get places sanctioned.”

Mini Theatres thought was envisaged by Kauphy Talkies and others after being ascertained with the drop of viewership due to higher ticket rates in 1600-odd big theatres and multiplexes. These mini theatres are speculated to be offering the similar services like the existing one while at cheaper rates to let the movie viewers to watch, entertain and promote Tollywood Telugu films.

Kauphy Talkies Mini Theatres Ticket Price Ranges from Rs. 50- Rs. 80

Government official further added “Along with bus stations, we will build them in parks and community halls near residential colonies to take cinema to viewers’ doorstep literally. Each theatre will accommodate 130 viewers, with ticket rates ranging between Rs 50 and Rs 80 per head which would be affordable to all sections of movie buffs.”

Head, Marketing and Branding of Kauphy Talkies, V Chandra acknowledged that the things have kick-started in AP and would soon be spreading across both States being asked about the mini theatres. Ruling out the rumors of calling off their plans, he said, “It’s true that we started the concept in AP, but we will commence work in TS soon since both governments are supporting our plans.
