‘Jolly LLB’ is the film in which actor Arshad Warsi proved that from all the supporting roles that he does, he can easily pull off the character on his own. But something happened regarding Arshad Warsi and Jolly LLB team as they didn’t cast him in Jolly LLB’s sequel.
Instead, Arshad was replaced by Akshay Kumar in the sequel. This replacement had hurt Warsi a lot. Upon his excellent acting skills which were proved in first part, the makers disappointed Warsi by not taking him in part 2.
Thus, Arshad Warsi made a valid bitter point about the industry and the mechanism, in an interview. He said:
“I am not doing it (Jolly LLB 2). Akshay is doing it. I was supposed to do it, but Fox Star Studios needed a bigger star, so they chose Akshay. It makes it easier for marketing; it makes it easier to have a hit. With me, you (the filmmakers) have to make a good film, so that is the problem. You can make money with me only if it’s a very good film!”
Arshad Warsi had that guts in the industry to say something about against it out loud and he did it.
Akshay Kumar reacts at Warsi’s ‘big star’ comment and said:
“I don’t have anything to say (on Arshad’s comment). Talk to the producer. It is the call of the producer. Like I did Welcome and not Welcome Back but I did not feel bad. It was my franchise so should I feel bad? Even Hera Pheri now somebody else is doing.”
That is a sensible reply from the actor. Isn’t it?
