Amitabh Bachchan Isn’t Too Happy With Akshay Kumar After Embarrassing Him At IFFI

Amitabh Bachchan has given Bollywood some of its finest movies and he is not stopping anytime soon as he continues to give us cinema at its best. His film career spans over fifty years. But, he is still acting in numerous films and remains a crowd attraction.

Thus, he was honored with the Indian Film Personality Of The Year award at the recently concluded International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa on Tuesday. The closing ceremony was a star-studded affair, at which Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani and Akshay Kumar presented the award to the 75-year-old megastar.

Presenting the Film Personality of the Year Award to Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay delivered a heartfelt, emotional speech in which he spoke about what Bachchan Senior means to the entire Hindi film fraternity as well as to him, personally.

Amitabh remains an idol for Bollywood stars like Akshay and he doesn’t waste any opportunity to show his affection for the actor. Amitabh was touched by the kind words towards him by actor Akshay Kumar, film director Karan Johar and other dignitaries who were present at the glamorous event.

Being very active on social media, he blogged about the ceremony and called it one of the most amazing evenings of his life.

He went on to personally thank Member of Parliament Smriti Irani for her efforts to make the evening both emotional and endearing.

When Akshay met Amitabh on stage, he bent down to touch his feet. This act didn’t go well with senior Bachchan as he felt embarrassed by the act.

When one of his fans posted a picture of Akshay showing his respect to Bachchan by touching his feet with the message “Charan Sparsh”.

Bachchan was quick to reply:

Fans of both Amitabh and Akshay replied to his tweet justifying the action. They said that it is a part of Indian culture to show respect to elders by touching their feet.

Akshay has the utmost respect for the legendary actor and his actions were not meant to embarrass him. It was a gesture of love and respect. Akshay first co-starred with Amitabh Bachchan in 2002’s Aankhen and has also shared screen space with Big B in films like Rishtaa, Waqt, and Family.

Amitabh Bachchan will next be seen in Thugs Of Hindostan while Akshay Kumar’s next is Padman.
