Trolled Anushka Sharma’s Bridal Saree? Here’s The Story Behind Her Clothing

The hullabaloo around Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s wedding doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon. Ever since the rumors of the couple getting to tie a knot started, fans were in a frenzy. From waiting for their first photo after the wedding to taking a dig at Danielle Wyatt, who had once ‘proposed’ Kohli, Twitterati just can’t stop with the jokes.

The wedding was something that every fan expected to happen but the manner in which it took place, it shocked many. However, in the end, it was a very pleasant surprise for everyone. The marriage took place in a very secret manner, in the presence of family and friends in Tuscany, Italy.

We all have seen way too much of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma this past week, but we can’t help it. Every new picture of them is breaking the internet and is getting people talking, and their first honeymoon picture wasn’t any different. Twitterati even made fun of the picture and made memes and jokes.

While all this was going on a positive note, people on the Internet has bit-crossed the line by trolling Anushka Sharma blue and black for wearing a baggy Red Saree at the reception. The grand reception was held at Delhi last night. The night was made more beautiful with the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Virushka looked extremely royal in the outfits designed by Sabyasachi.

Anushka Sharma became the center of attraction by wearing a Red Benarsi Saree with heavy jewelry, while Virat looked dapper in a black outfit with a shawl. Anushka was badly trolled for her dress, though we find it to be perfect. It’s her choice and her decision. Even if people didn’t like it, they don’t have the right to troll her on the social platforms. People called her ‘Aunty’ and criticized her outfit in various ways.

Countering the trolls and insensible comments, Sabyasachi went revealing the real story behind it. He explained the reason that why she dressed up like a typical bride. His letter read,

“I don’t think Indian brides feel complete without wearing the color red in at-least one of their functions. Anushka decided to wear red on her reception! And much to my absolute delight, it was a red Benarasi Saree. From the by-lanes of Peeli Kothi in Benaras. I was particularly excited about this look because I have seen an entire generation of Bengali women getting married in Red Benarasi Sarees.

The Red Bindi, the Sindoor, and the Mogras in her hair just made the look more potent and powerful. She chose to wear heritage uncut diamond choker and Jhumkas from the Sabyasachi Bridal Jewelry collection. Bollywood can play a major role in spreading awareness about Indian textiles and handlooms. And I must say the occasion couldn’t be better.

I know copies of this saree will flood the entire country in the next few months to come, which also means that a million weaver’s children will be back at school. All I can say is thank you Anushka!’

Well, thats Virusha for you all. Now, stop trolling and get back to business.
