Arjun Kapoor is the son of Boney Kapoor and Mona Shourie Kapoor. Arjun shares a very close bond with his mother as he couldn’t spend much time with his father because he moved out after marrying Sridevi. Despite single parent, Mona Kapoor was always positive and was never seen hurling insults about her extended family. Arjun Kapoor shares an emotional post about his mother on her Death anniversary on his Instagram handle.
He writes,
“As I was shooting by a canal today in Patiala wishing I could send u a picture of how nice the location was Mom I realised I never quite got to walk the red carpet with u to show u one of my films but I’m certain in the last 6 years u have walked every step of the way with me thru these 9 films Along with mine & Anshula s personal journeys…wish u were here Mom so much has transpired so much where I would have looked at u for answers and looked at u to draw strength…”
“I don’t know if I’m doing a decent job at it but I’m taking one day at a time and making each moment count trying to be a truthful reflection of u n ur teachings…can’t believe it’s been 6 years to the day but I have thought of u every breath I have taken pls smile spread ur warmth n positivity wherever u are cause god knows the world me and Anshula need it…love u forever and beyond…”
The Two States actor, Arjun Kapoor is quite close to his mother Mona Kapoor who was the first wife of Boney Kapoor. Boney Kapoor left Mona Kapoor and broke their 13year old marriage when he fell in love with Sridevi. Mona Kapoor didn’t have much of a choice than to leave Boney as Sridevi was already pregnant with Janhvi Kapoor by then.
Sridevi was insecure about her place in Boney’s life and ask him to maintain a distance from his ex-wife and their children.Boney had to stay away from Mona and Kids and this left an impression in Arjun’s mind and that is the main reason for not accepting Sridevi in his life. When asked he refrained himself from answering about his extended family. Mona had died fighting with cancer in 2012 months before his debut movie “Ishqzaade”
On the work front, Arjun Kapoor is currently busy with “Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar” and “Namaste London” opposite Parineeti Chopra.
