Boney Kapoor Posts An Emotional Message On Sridevi’s Twitter Account, Opens Up About Losing Sridevi

India’s one and only female Superstars Sridevi is no more now and people across the country are rushing to see their favorite heroine one last time. On February 25, the country woke up to the shocking news of one of a legendary actress of Bollywood Sridevi’s death. Indian cinema lost the versatile actress and gems Sridevi who breathe her last in a family function in Dubai.

Sridevi’s untimely death has left a void in the entire film fraternity in India. Many celebrities and politicians took Twitter to share their grief but her demise is perhaps the biggest loss to her family. It was just five months before her elder daughter Jhanvi Kapoor’s Bollywood debut, Sridevi died in Dubai.

She was in Dubai to attend her nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding when she suffered a cardiac arrest on Saturday night, leaving her family, fans, and Bollywood in shock. While her husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi Kapoor accompanied Sridevi to the wedding in Dubai, Jhanvi decided to stay behind in Mumbai to shoot for her debut film Dhadak.

Sridevi was found unconscious in the bathtub by Boney Kapoor. The efforts to revive her failed. The death certificate said that she died due to “accidental drowning.” Her mortal remains were flown back to Mumbai, on February 27, and the funeral was held on February 28. Dressed in red, and draped in tricolor, India’s Chandni was cremated in Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium.

Hours after Sridevi was cremated, her husband Boney Kapoor shared one last post from his wife’s Twitter handle where he remembered her as the love of his life and the axis around which his family ran. His primary concern now was to protect the couple’s two daughters, Jahnvi and Khushi.

In a heartbreaking post, Boney Kapoor wrote,

“Losing a friend, wife, and mother of your two young daughters is a loss inexplicable in words.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers and all of you countless fans of my Sridevi who have stood by us like rocks. I am blessed to have the support and love of Arjun and Anshula, who have been such pillars of strength for myself, Khushi and Janhvi. Together, as a family, we have tried to face this unbearable loss.

To the world, she was their Chandni..the actor par excellence…their Sridevi..but to me she was my love, my friend, mother to our girls..my partner. To our daughters, she was their everything….their life. She was the axis around which our family ran.

As we bid goodbye to my beloved wife and Khushi & Janhvi’s mama, I have a sincere request. Please respect our need to grieve privately. If you need to talk about Sri, let it be the special memories that connect each of you to her. She was and is an actor that is irreplaceable. Love and respect her for that. The curtains never come down on an actor’s life, because they shine on the silver screen forever.

My only concern at this time is to protect my daughters and find a way to move forward without Sri. She was our life, our strength and the reason we always smiled. We love her beyond measure. Rest in peace, my love. Our lives will never be the same again.”

For film producer Boney Kapoor, this loss has probably altered his and his daughters lives forever. While Indian Cinema lost its precious gem, Boney Kapoor and his daughters lost their support system. While family and friends are there to console, the absence of the person haunts for a very long time.
