One more celebrity is in line for taking the plunge after Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. She is none other than Sonam Kapoor who is going to marry her long-time beau, Anand Ahuja in a destination wedding in Geneva. The couple planned a summer wedding but the families wanted to have the wedding in Jaipur or Udaipur.
Sonam and Anand were okay with the place until Sonam visited Geneva for a brand commitment and that’s when Sonam and Anand decided their wedding venue to be Geneva.
Sonam chose to wear an Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla lehenga on her D-day and she is also be seen wearing a Ralph & Russo during her ceremonies. The wedding will be a 2-day lavish ceremony on May 11th and 12th. A source revealed that,
“The date and venue for the wedding have been locked and mass bookings for flights are presently underway. Her dad Anil Kapoor is personally making phone calls to invite guests. There will be sangeet and mehendi ceremonies, followed by a traditional Hindu wedding,”
Sonam was accompanied by sister Rhea Kapoor in Geneva to look out for their wedding destination. Though Sonam didn’t release any official statement about the same, Sources close to the family had revealed that,
“The nuptials will be preceded by an engagement ceremony attended by the family’s inner circle but the venue for that is presently not known.”
There’s one more rumor stating that Sonam Kapoor will wed Anand Ahuja in June after the release of her film Veere Di Wedding as per an article in Pinkvilla. The article also stated that the Venue is London opposing Geneva, Switzerland as per Mumbai Mirror. But there isn’t any official confirmation about either of the places from Sonam or Family.
Sonam Kapoor is currently busy with her film Veere Di Wedding along with Kareena Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar, and Shikha Talsania. The movie is the journey of four friends who come together for a wedding. It’s a complete package of fun and entertainment which is produced by Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor. This film is the first production debut of Rhea Kapoor. The film got delayed due to Kareena’s pregnancy and it’s getting released on 1st of June.
