India’s one and only female Superstars Sridevi is no more now and people across the country are rushing to see their favorite heroine one last time. On February 25, the country woke up to the shocking news of one of a legendary actress of Bollywood Sridevi’s death. Indian cinema lost the versatile actress and gems Sridevi who breathe her last in a family function in Dubai.

Sridevi’s untimely death has left a void in the entire film fraternity in India. Many celebrities and politicians took Twitter to share their grief but her demise is perhaps the biggest loss to her family. It was just five months before her elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor’s Bollywood debut, Sridevi died in Dubai.

She was in Dubai to attend her nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding when she suffered a cardiac arrest on Saturday night, leaving her family, fans, and Bollywood in shock. While her husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi Kapoor accompanied Sridevi to the wedding in Dubai, Janhvi decided to stay behind in Mumbai to shoot for her debut film Dhadak.

Sridevi was found unconscious in the bathtub by Boney Kapoor. The efforts to revive her failed. The death certificate said that she died due to “accidental drowning.” Her mortal remains were flown back to Mumbai, on February 27, and the funeral was held on February 28. Dressed in red, and draped in tricolor, India’s Chandni was cremated in Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium.

Hours after Sridevi was cremated, her husband Boney Kapoor shared one last post from his wife’s Twitter handle where he remembered her as the love of his life and the axis around which his family ran. His primary concern now was to protect the couple’s two daughters, Jahnvi and Khushi.

After his father, now Janhvi Kapoor took to her Instagram account and posted something about her mother Sridevi and explained how hard it is to be without her. It is her 21st birthday today, the heartbroken and shattered young starlet, who is set to make her Bollywood debut in the film ‘Dhadak’, shared an emotional post asking her mother’s fans for just one thing on the occasion of her birthday – “to love your parents.”

On Wednesday, Sridevi’s grieving husband Boney Kapoor also took to social media to share a few words about his wife. In his heartfelt note, he said, “She was our life, our strength and the reason we always smiled. We love her beyond measure.”

Boney said losing a friend, wife and a mother of two young daughters was a loss inexplicable in words. “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my family, friends, colleagues, well-wishers and all of you countless fans of my Sridevi who have stood by us like rocks.”

Janhvi’s debut film opposite Ishaan Khatter is scheduled to release on 6 July 2018.
