Bollywood’s most controversial lady Kangana Ranaut has been in the news for the last couple of weeks for no fault of hers. The nepotism controversy ceases to end with Varun Dhawan and Karan giving their two cents on the matter.
Amidst all these negativity, the Queen actress who is well known for her flawless acting skills has, unfortunately, met with a horrifying accident during the shooting of her next film Manikarnika – The Queen Of Jhansi, where she plays Rani Laxmibai.
Coming to the details, Kangana Ranaut is currently shooting for a biopic on Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi. The filming of Manikarnika-The Queen of Jhansi in Hyderabad turned ugly when the actress was injured on the sets during a sword-fighting sequence.
Kangana Ranaut likes to perform her own stunts for her movies but it turned into a bloodbath on the sets of Manikarnika-The Queen of Jhansi.
The fierce and fiery Kangana had rehearsed for the action scene several times before the filming took place. She was involved in the sequence with co-actor Nihar Pandya and was supposed to duck when attacked by the latter.
However, the timing got horribly wrong and the sword not only hit her head but resulted in a deep cut between her eyebrows.
A source from the set informed Mid-day about the fatal incident and said,
“Kangana was immediately rushed to Apollo hospital nearby, where she was admitted into the ICCU. She got 15 stitches on her forehead and will be under observation in the hospital for a few days. The examining doctor said that it was a close shave for her because the cut was too close to her bone.“
Adding to it, the producer of the film Kamal Jain said that Kangana refused to use a body double and insisted that she would do the scene herself. Despite the scenes being rehearsed several times before, the timing went wrong during the main shoot sequence.
“Kangana had to duck when Nihar (Pandya) attacked her, but the timing went wrong and Nihar’s sword hit her forehead instead. It made a deep cut between her eyebrows. The drive to the hospital took a good 30 minutes, but she put up a brave front despite the pain and bleeding. Nihar was apologetic and felt terrible, but Kangana pacified him,” said the producer.
According to the examining doctor, Kangana will be left with a scar.
However, a source further informed the publication that Kangana wants to flaunt her scar in the film. “Rani of Jhansi was a warrior. So Kangana has decided that she will wear her scar with pride just like the Queen of Jhansi did.“
Brave Kangana Ranaut will get discharged from the hospital next week and might have to undergo cosmetic surgery after completion of this film.
That’s unfortunate. We hope you get better soon, Kangana. 🙂
