Padmaavat has hit the big screens on 25th of this month. Now, it has been three days, the movie successfully garnered wide appreciation and affection from all sorts of people from every corner of the country.
The journey of Padmaavat started the day it was entitled ‘Padmavati’. With no stone unturned, Bhansali has won the millions of hearts with the glorified past of Rajputs. In the movie, Shahid Kapoor played the role of the valiant Rajput king ‘Ratan Singh’, while Deepika played the lead role ‘Rani Padmini’, and it is Ranveer Singh who donned the ultimate villain character ‘Alauddin Khilji’.
Just as the movie got its release, Ranveer bagged all the attention followed by Deepika, and it is Shahid who was deserted both in terms of shooting and post-release moments. There are several speculations that went saying that there are disputes between Ranveer and Shahid and the same has continued till the end of shooting because of which they even promoted the movie individually.
Now, speaking to the popular daily, Shahid revealed, “I’m used to being the favorite of all my filmmakers. This was the first time that I was like an outsider. When you work with a team that has worked together, you are kind of an outsider and it takes time for you to break through that barrier.”
And he added, “The best thing about Sanjay sir is that he is ruthless in his creative desire. He is extremely intuitive towards artists and his craft. And he doesn’t care whether it is 4 am or midnight, or whether it is 82 days or 100 days or what the cost of one day’s shooting is or if someone is emotionally spent.”
On the other hand, in the recent press meet, that happened yesterday, Shahid went saying that one cannot compare his role with Ranveer. He admitted that his role is minor compared to Deepika and Ranveer’s. Shahid urged people not to compare his role with Ranveer, he then concluded that it was obviously a challenge for him to perform with the two stars who are donning the major roles in the film.
Amid Shahid’s views, Mira was asked about the movie, and she went saying that Shahid has done more justice to the movie than what he should have. She added, “with no bias, I feel Shahid is the best in the film”. Well, that is an indirect on-the-face answer to all those who have been chanting Ranveer’s name post-Padmaavat’s release.
